Practitioners who sit with evidence packs, not pitch decks

Stonegate Fintech Assurance exists to help Taiwan fintech operators face supervisory questions with documented controls — and to tell boards where residual risk still sits after fieldwork.

Assurance lead in formal attire reviewing client materials

Origin

The practice grew from engagement work on payment licensing files in northern Taiwan, where applicants repeatedly asked for independent testing before counsel locked a filing narrative. Stonegate was formed to keep that work separate from legal representation and from outsourced compliance officer roles.

Working approach

We begin with a scoped criteria map, pull samples against it, interview the people who own exceptions, and write findings a board can act on. Severity ratings stay conservative: we do not inflate medium issues into crisis language to sell follow-on work.

Where we work

Interviews and file reviews take place on client premises or at arranged meeting rooms. Our correspondence address is 219 Zieme Alley, 連江市, 福建省, Taiwan. Much document intake is remote; capital and outsourcing discussions with directors are usually in person.

Values in practice

Document first

If a control cannot be shown in a file, interview note, or board extract, it does not appear as “effective” in our memo.

Clear scope lines

We decline work that requires us to advocate before a regulator or to fill an operational compliance seat — those roles conflict with independent assurance.

Taiwan context

Engagements respect bilingual policy packs, lunar calendar volume spikes, and the pace of local supervisory correspondence.

Board-readable writing

Findings name owners, dates, and residual risk. We avoid jargon that only comforts the writers of the report.
